BREAST CANCER AWARENESS CAMPAIGN FOR OCTOBER 2023

Dar Zhor Association Press Conference – Launch of Pink October 2023 Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign

On September 21, 2023, the Dar Zhor Association held a press conference to officially announce the launch of its breast cancer awareness campaign for October 2023, as part of Pink October.

Speaking on this occasion, the association’s president, Dr. Myriam Nciri, stated:
“Every year, more than 12,000 women in Morocco are diagnosed with breast cancer, and nearly 4,000 lose their lives. Faced with this alarming reality, the Dar Zhor Association has taken the initiative to act by launching a national campaign to promote screening and early diagnosis of this formidable disease.”

Dr. Nciri also paid tribute to the campaign’s ambassador, mountaineer Bouchra Baibanou, the first Moroccan woman to reach the summit of Everest.

The campaign’s new creative concept was then presented by Guillaume Pendeliau, Creative Director of the communications agency Zone Bleue, who volunteered his expertise to design it. Playful and practical, the campaign features two friendly apple characters named “MO” and “MA”, designed to inform the general public without causing alarm, while softening the somber image of the disease.

The conference also featured moving testimonies from survivors and women still battling the illness, many of whom have benefited from the association’s support during their difficult journey.
